The Cousin From Accross The Pond
Across the Pond, a New Adventure Begins!
Join Fiona and Freddy for seaside fun, family laughter, delightful surprises, and heartwarming lessons of faith in John Elliott’s charming new Christian children’s series.
Discover Book One: The Cousin From Across the Pond
The adventure begins in The Cousin From Across the Pond, where seven-year-old Fiona lives with her parents in the picturesque seaside village of Wickford, Rhode Island. Although she loves exploring the beach and collecting seashells with her mother, Mia, Fiona misses her cousin Freddy, who lives far across the Atlantic Ocean in Scotland.
Fiona’s wish comes true when Freddy and his mother, Illy, arrive in America for a two-week summer visit. The cousins are overjoyed to be together again, spending their days playing by the sea while sharing the wonderfully different words, expressions, and traditions of their two countries.
When a rainy afternoon brings an unexpected visitor into Fiona’s cottage, Freddy cries, “There’s a moose loose aboot this hoose!” What follows is a delightful misunderstanding, plenty of laughter, and the discovery of a tiny baby mouse who soon becomes an unforgettable part of their visit.
Beautifully illustrated and lovingly told, "The Cousin From Across the Pond" celebrates the special bond between cousins, the joy of discovering another culture, kindness toward even the smallest of God’s creatures, and the comforting reminder that no matter how far apart loved ones may be, God is always near.
With the promise of a future journey to Scotland, Fiona and Freddy’s adventures have only just begun.
